Find a fishing guide, a fishing trip or a private fishery
Want to fish with a guide, go away for a few days or book a managed water? Here is what to check before choosing, followed by a form to receive offers from partner professionals.
Get up to 3 offers from fishing guides in your area
Two steps: what you need, then your contact details. With your consent, the request goes to 3 partner professionals at most.
Fishing guide or instructor: what to check
In France, supervising or teaching angling for payment is restricted to holders of a recognised qualification (for example the BPJEPS “pêche de loisir”) who have declared their activity and hold a sports instructor professional card (French Sport Code, articles L212-1 and L212-11). Ask to see it. Rules differ in other countries: ask the guide which qualification or licence applies and check with the authority listed on your area page.
- Is the fishing licence included, or which one do you need to buy beforehand?
- Is tackle provided? Do you need to bring waders, a life jacket or rain gear?
- How many anglers per guide, and does the trip suit your level?
- Is the fish released? Which minimum sizes and bag limits apply?
- Does the guide hold professional liability insurance?
- What happens in case of high water, storms or cancellation?
Fishing trip: what should be in writing
A trip often combines lodging, water access, guiding and transfers. Ask for written details of what is included (licence, meals, boat, guide every day or not) and check that your target species is open on your dates: our regulation pages give opening and closing periods by area, with their sources.
Private fishery or stillwater
A private fishery is managed water booked by the day or half-day. Its own rules (number of fish, catch and release, barbless hooks, permitted baits) come on top of the general rules: ask for them before booking, along with prices and what is included (peg, boat, tackle hire).
How the request works
You describe your plans in two steps. With your explicit consent, we pass the request on to at most three partner professionals (fishing guides and instructors, trip organisers, private fishery managers) who may contact you. The request is free and commits you to nothing. Pescatlas does not sell these services, does not set their prices and cannot guarantee that a professional is available in your area.
Would you rather go with a professional?
Tell us about your plans: with your consent, we pass your request on to partner professionals (3 at most) who can send you an offer. Free, no obligation.
