Browsing

The site sets no advertising cookies. Audience measurement (Google Analytics 4, Google Ireland) is enabled only if you accept it in the banner; you can withdraw consent with the “Manage cookies” link in the footer. Without consent no Google script is loaded and no measurement cookie is set. The server keeps technical logs (IP address, page requested) for at most 30 days, for security.

Anonymous audience measurement and site improvement (PostHog)

We also use PostHog (PostHog Inc., data hosted in the European Union, Frankfurt) to understand how the site is used and improve it. Without your consent, PostHog works without cookies and stores nothing in your browser: it counts page views, clicks and errors anonymously (IP address not kept). With your consent, it sets an identifier (6 months at most) and may record how your visit unfolds (movements, clicks, scrolling) to spot what gets in the way; the fields you fill in are masked and never recorded, and nothing is recorded on the access pages of your purchases. Recordings are kept for 30 days. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in measuring traffic for the anonymous measurement, your consent for the identifier and recordings, which you can withdraw with “Manage cookies”.

Purchases

When you buy a guide, Stripe receives your payment details and email address; we never see your card. We receive from Stripe your name, email and the product bought, for the invoice and “Find my purchases” access (emails sent through Resend). No postal address is requested. Legal basis: performance of the contract. Retention: 10 years for accounting records, 3 years otherwise.

1-click buying

After a first successful payment for a digital product, we set a technical cookie “fx1c” (your signed Stripe customer ID, no other data) for 13 months, to recognise you on this device and offer 1-click buying. The card is kept by Stripe, never by us; only its brand and last 4 digits are shown to you. Legal basis: performance of the contract, at your request. You can delete this cookie in your browser and ask for the card to be deleted at admin@tech-bharat.com.

Connecting you with professionals

If you fill in the “Would you rather go with a professional?” form, we receive your first name, email, phone number if given and the description of your plans (area, species, dates, level, details). Purpose: connecting you with partner professionals. Recipients: at most three partner professionals (fishing guides and instructors, fishing trip organisers, private fishery managers), who may contact you about your request by phone call, text message or email. Legal basis: your consent, given through a separate box that is not pre-ticked; consent is not a condition of any purchase. Retention: at most 3 years without a new request from you. You can withdraw consent at any time by writing to admin@tech-bharat.com; withdrawal does not affect transfers already made.
