Overview
A first rod to introduce a child to fishing on a pond or quiet river: perch, roach, stocked trout, with a float or a small lure.
The fibreglass telescopic rod is 1.65 m (5 ft 5 in) extended and about 42 cm closed; fibreglass forgives knocks and clumsiness better than carbon. Its pistol grip fits small hands well. It comes with a closed-face (spincast) reel, the easiest kind to use: press the button to cast.
Three colours: blue, orange or green. Packed weight: about 270 g.
Limitations: the supplier does not say whether line is pre-spooled; hooks, floats and weights are not included. Hooks are sharp: an adult should always be present. Depending on the country, a licence may be required even for children.
