Overview
A small spool of fine braid for light lure fishing: perch, trout, black bass and zander on spinners, small soft lures or crankbaits. Its yellow colour is easy to follow by eye, which helps you spot a bite while the lure is sinking.
The spool holds 100 m (109 yd) of 4-strand PE braid. The supplier gives a rating for each number:
- no. 0.6: 8 lb (about 3.6 kg); no. 1.0: 15 lb (about 6.8 kg); no. 1.5: 20 lb (about 9.1 kg);
- no. 2.0: 25 lb (about 11.3 kg); no. 3.0: 35 lb (about 15.9 kg).
About 70 g (2.5 oz) packed. As 100 m does not always fill a spool, put some nylon backing on first, then the braid on top.
Limits: these ratings are claimed by the manufacturer and the diameter is not stated. A knot always weakens the line. Add a fluorocarbon leader, and a bite-proof trace for pike.
