Overview
A bell is the simplest bite indicator: clipped to the rod tip, it rings as soon as a fish pulls on the line. Useful for static fishing for carp, bream, catfish or eel, especially at night, when you can no longer see the end of the rod.
This pack contains 20 clip-on twin bells in ABS and metal. The clip tightens on the rod tip in seconds and comes off just as quickly, so you can move it from one rod to another. The manufacturer claims a clear ring and good sensitivity.
Tip: fit the bell a few centimetres from the rod tip with the line slightly tight, and keep an eye on the tip in strong wind to tell a bite from a gust.
Limitations: the size of the bells and the clip opening are not specified; a very thick rod tip may not fit. Wind and current can make the bell ring without a bite. It does not replace an electronic bite alarm for long nights.
