Overview
Braid replaces nylon as the main line when you want to feel every bite and set the hook at distance: it has almost no stretch. An 8-strand weave generally gives a rounder line that leaves the guides more smoothly. This spool is aimed at lure fishing for pike, zander, perch and black bass, and at carp and wels catfish with the heavier numbers.
The spool holds 500 m (547 yd), enough to fill two reels or one large spool. Green colour, PE numbers to choose from: 1.5, 2, 3 or 4. About 320 g (11.3 oz) packed.
- Put a few turns of nylon under the braid so it does not slip on the spool.
- Add a fluorocarbon or nylon leader, and a bite-proof trace for pike.
Limits: the supplier gives neither the diameter nor the breaking strain of each number. Use knots designed for braid, as simple knots slip on this kind of line.
