Overview
This mat is for the most delicate moment of a catch: between the landing net and the release. Limitations: this is not a thick padded carp cradle — the listing does not mention any foam padding. For big fish, lay it on flat, soft ground, and always wet it before placing a fish on it.

Is the mat padded?
The supplier lists PVC and does not mention foam. It protects the fish from the ground but does not cushion like a thick cradle.
Can I weigh the fish in it?
The handles let you hang it from a scale. Subtract the weight of the empty mat (about 670 g) to get the weight of the fish.
Why measure the fish?
Many regulations set a minimum catch size per species. Measuring tells you whether the fish may be kept or must be released.
