Overview
A multicolour braid changes colour at regular intervals: here every 10 m (33 ft), according to the supplier. It is a very practical marker for vertical fishing and trolling, since you know how much line is out and can return to exactly the same distance or depth after a bite. It suits pike, zander, perch and black bass, and with the heavier numbers wels catfish and carp.
The spool holds 500 m (547 yd) of 8-strand braid sold as main line. Numbers to choose from: 1.2, 3 or 5. About 450 g (15.9 oz) packed.
- Note which colour is at the rod tip when a fish bites: you can put your lure back in the same spot.
- Add a fluorocarbon leader, and a bite-proof trace for pike and catfish.
