Overview
A swivel joins two lines, or the line to the lure, while preventing line twist. It is essential with inline spinners and useful in most rigs: float-fishing hooklinks, ledger rigs and predator traces.
This pack contains 100 plain stainless steel swivels in the size you choose: no. 7 (18 mm / 0.71 in long, 3 mm eye), no. 10 (15 mm / 0.59 in, 2.4 mm eye) or no. 14 (12 mm / 0.47 in, 1.6 mm eye), as measured by the supplier. No. 14 suits small rigs and light spinners, no. 7 heavier rigs.
A tip: tie the swivel about a rod length above the spinner so the twist it creates stays away from the reel.
Limits: the supplier does not state the breaking strain; for large fish (wels catfish, big pike), use swivels with a guaranteed rating. Dimensions are measured by hand, with a small margin of error.
